Natural Face Lift - Restylane For Natural Youthful Skin Instantly

Restylane is a natural facelift treatment that has been used by millions of women worldwide to get a more youthful appearance.

Restylane is a great alternative to Botox or plastic surgery is natural and safe. Let?s look at why Restylane is becoming more popular than ever.

The Treatment

Restylane is a gel made from hyaluronic acid (HA)

This water acting substance is present in everyone?s skin already and the treatment simply boosts the moisturizing affect.

So, it?s natural and safe and this is hugely appealing to most women.

When injected into the skin it is known as SubQ and moisturises the skin from the inside

It is used to soften lines and wrinkles and is injected into any areas that need improvement.

It can be used on the skin but is also frequently injected into the lip areas as well to plump them up, in this form is known as Restylane Lipp.

Finally it can be used on the cheekbones, where it is called SUBQ.

It is a very flexible treatment and adds volume to the face to soften lines, wrinkles or stress an area i.e plumping up the lips.

How long does it last?

This all depends on each individual.

How much is injected, how much that area of the face moves and the person?s genetic makeup.

For example, a cheek treatment will tend to last a year or more, mouth lines around six months and the lips may be just a few months.

In addition to the above we are all unique and we all break down hyaluronic acid at different rates so every case is different.

Why use it?

Unlike Botox and other treatments, it is totally natural with no side effects.

It simply boosts the amount of hyaluronic acid in the skin.

Because its natural you look natural (this cannot be said for botox or many facelifts) you can roll back the years, look beautiful and not worry that you will suffer in anyway from side effects.

Just like treatments like Mestotherapy the attraction of Restylane is it allows you to look younger in a totally natural way.

Ok it doesn?t last for ever but regular treatments will keep you looking young and with sessions at around $700.00 its affordable and a great way to look better.

Turning Back The Clock With Cosmetic Facelift Surgery

It seems that every time we turn on our televisions, open a magazine, or listen to the radio we are met with another reference, story, or advertisement for cosmetic facelift surgery. No longer are the masses content to just grow old gracefully; not when there are medical miracles happening that can prolong youth and sustain beauty. And while cosmetic facelift surgery is certainly not for everyone, in many it has transformed the way they feel about aging ? putting their appearance back into their control.

Cosmetic facelift surgery works to erase common signs of aging ? drooping eyelids, deep fold and wrinkles, loose skin, and loss of definition. It can be an incredibly successful surgery that ? when healed ? can restore ten years to your face. But, as with any surgery, cosmetic facelift surgery must be approached with caution and education.

First and foremost, you must decide if cosmetic facelift surgery is something that you want to do for yourself or something that you feel must be done to please others. Cosmetic surgery of any kind should be for person and one person only ? you. Having cosmetic facelift surgery to help you feel better about yourself is absolutely valid; having surgery simply because someone tells you that you should look a certain way are not the right reason.

If you are confident that cosmetic facelift surgery is something that you want to explore then you should begin by doing your homework. Look into the details of the procedures you want done. Learn the requirements for surgery, and what to expect prior to, during, and after the surgery. Talk to other people who have undergone cosmetic facelift surgery so you can gage the recovery time and expected results. The Internet is a great place to find people who are in similar situations.

However, finding a reputable doctor to perform your cosmetic facelift surgery is the most important piece of the puzzle. Just because a surgeon is licensed to perform a cosmetic facelift surgery, doesn?t mean that he/she is the best person for the job. Extensively research the credentials of any surgeon you are considering. Better yet, ask for references of other patients that have had a cosmetic facelift surgery performed by this particular doctor. You?ll be able to see some examples of results up close and establish the doctor?s reputation.

Your meetings with the surgeon prior to your cosmetic facelift surgery should make you feel well informed, respected, and comfortable. Be sure to openly discuss any concerns that you have about the surgery and ask a lot of questions.

Be sure that you are clear on the risks associated with cosmetic facelift surgery. As with any cosmetic surgery there is the risk of fluid retention and infection. But using a reputable, experienced surgeon largely minimizes these risks.

You will, however, have some recovery time following the cosmetic facelift surgery. Expect some swelling, bruising, and possibly some minimal bleeding during the healing process. Be sure to follow-up with your doctor if you experience anything unusual; and follow all instructions for proper healing.

If done properly by a reputable and experienced surgeon, your cosmetic facelift surgery can be enormously successful and restore to you a youthful appearance.

Natural Face-Lift using Acupuncture

More and more, women and men too, are looking for a natural face-lift, that is, a way to maintain their youthful looking facial skin, naturally. Face-lifts using surgery, or cosmetic face-lifts using products such as Botox injections, are being replaced at least in part, by natural methods.

cupuncture has been used for millennia to treat disease and lines and wrinkles on faces have been part of that. After all, if Acupuncture can treat diseases of the body, why would it not work on the aging facial skin.

Face-lifts are common place these days, but not everyone wants to spend tens-of-thousands of dollars for a plastic surgeon, or have potentially toxic chemicals injected into their skin. More and more people are looking toward natural skin care solutions such as natural and organic skin care products and now Acupuncture for maintaining their youthful looks.

Acupuncture uses acupuncture points, located all over the body to stimulate the body?s own energy. Each point has specific actions, but can also have complex interactions when used together with other acupuncture points.

Typically a face-lift using acupuncture would involve a selection from points such as:

  • CO. 20 (Yang Xiang)
  • S.I. 18 (Quan Liao)
  • TH. 23 (Si Zhu Kong)
  • GB. 1 (Tong Zi Liao), GB. 14 (Yang Bai)
  • ST. 2 (Si Bai), ST. 3 (Ju Liao), ST. 4 (Di Cang)
  • Yin Tang, Yu Yao
In addition, other points on the body would be selected to treat any underlying health problems, which would also have an effect on the healthy look of an individual. Let's face it, if you are feeling a million dollars, you'll probably look better than if you're feeling low in energy and lack basic health.

In Australia an Acupuncture session would cost you around $100.- and you would need at least 6-8 treatment over 4-8 weeks to get results. Yes, you would need to repeat this once or twice a year, depending on your age and general health. Compare that to Botox injections or surgery, and you will save yourself a lot of money and pain, not to mension avoiding nasty side effects.

Natural face-lifts are simply a better option. You don't need to use potentially toxic chemicals, nor do you run any risk associated with even the most minor of surgical procedures and you do not need to worry about side effects. Acupuncture will not cause any lasting side effects. At worst, you may get a small bruise where a needle was inserted, but it will clear up in a matter of a day or two and the Acupuncture itself is not painful. In fact Acupuncture is usually very relaxing and energising.

Natural face-lifts are increasingly more sought after and Acupuncture is a very simple, effective way to get results. Make sure the person you choose is well qualified and is a member of a national association.

Do It Yourself Non-Surgical Facelift

I?m the first to investigate a new anti-aging product or procedure, and have been for the last twenty years. Sometimes I?ve even gone so far as to indulge myself with the promise of eternal youth. So either the earth?s gravitational pull is getting stronger or raising children has finally taken its toll. Here I am, middle aged and wondering what?s the next thing to ?go south.?

I?m an esthetician with all the tools of the trade. I have all the gizmos and gadgets that when used regularly will minimize the effects of aging. So why don?t I use them on myself? Because it seems that there is never enough time.

With all the new technology such as lasers, thermage, microcurrent and magic lotions and potions, there is always a cost. It might be the price, the risks or the inconvenience. What if there was something you could do in the privacy of your own home for as little as 10 minutes a day. I know, I?m beginning to sound like an informercial but the claims are that there really are things you can do that can help get that youthful jawline and line free forehead back. Would you be willing to give 10 minutes a day for a few weeks to try it and see for yourself?

Facial exercises have been around for ages. Now it makes sense that toned muscles are firm muscles and that goes for the face as well as the body. As we age the underlying muscles of the face become flaccid and are less able to support the skin that is attached to them. While there is a lot that can be done to tighten and firm the skin, it is the underlying muscles, that when toned and tightened, make the biggest difference.

My first experience with facial exercise was with Greer Childers in her exercise program, ?Body Flex.? She based her technique of the premise that oxygenation of the tissue keeps it young and vibrant. She had me doing the ?Lion? and the ?Ugly Face? (appropriately named) where I would get into position and pull these horrible grotesque faces and hope to high heaven no one walked in on me. She promised me that while everyone else was trying to ?smooth the wrinkles out of their face we will have the last laugh because we will already be there.?

Then came Ellae Elinwood with her book, ?Timeless Face.? This is a book I got not only for myself, but for my clients to prolong the effects of their facial treatment. Ellae has twenty three facial exercises that you do in front of the mirror....alone... or with a group of five year olds for entertainment.

Another favorite is ?Facelift at you Fingertips,? by Pierre Jean Cousin. I really like this book and incorporate a lot of the techniques in my facials. This book focuses primarily on acupressure points, massage and aromatherapy. By stimulating acupressure points in the face by massage or gentle tapping, you increase the flow of energy, increase circulation and improve muscle tone.

Now I don?t know about the facial gadgets you put in your mouth to help exercise and tone the muscles. Besides the sanitation issue, I question the effectiveness. The only thing I will put repeatedly in my mouth is my tooth brush.

One company sells a workout ball and a towel to heat and warm up the face before exercise. I guess this is so you don?t pull an orbicular oris muscle during your workout.

The most important exercise you can do to improve the face is to smile. Have you ever noticed how people who smile more tend to have a definite jaw line. If jowls are your problem try looking in the mirror and then smile and watch how the jowls disappear. Smiling can relieve stress and tension and help you feel better. Your smile will have an affect on others when they see you smiling. You can even use surgical tape while you sleep to keep that smile in place.

Incorporate these facial exercises into your daily exercise routine and you can be firm and toned head to toe.

The History of Facelifts

The first facelifts were performed in the early 1900s. During these early forms of the facelift procedure, the only concern was repositioning the skin so that the appearance of wrinkles and creases would be corrected. Facelifts were performed by making incisions, pulling back the facial skin, removing excess tissue, and closing the incision.

In the 1970s, doctors realized that although repositioning the skin was key in providing the youthful facelift results people were looking for, the deeper tissues and muscles also had to be repositioned to provide the excellent, long-lasting results people are looking for.

?Although the skin-only facelift is essentially a technique of the past,? says Dr. Douglas Hendricks in Newport Beach, California, ?the facelift procedures of today would not be in existence without the knowledge gained from the early versions of the facelift.?

In 1974, doctors began repositioning the Superficial Musculoaponeurotic System (SMAS). The SMAS is the layer of muscle and tissue below the skin, and up until 1974, doctors were performing facelifts by only repositioning the skin.

By repositioning both the skin and the SMAS, plastic surgeons are now able to provide patients with wonderful, long-lasting, and natural looking results. A facelift can reduce the signs of aging like wrinkles and creases in the cheeks, jowls, and neck.

Facelifts today begin with incisions that are concealed within the hairline. From these incisions, the skin is separated from the muscles and tissue beneath. The SMAS layer is then tightened to provide the youthful appearance in the lower face, mid-face, and neck. After the SMAS layer is tightened, the skin is pulled back to reduce lines and wrinkles. Excess skin and fat is removed, and the incisions are closed.

Recovery from modern facelifts is much easier than facelifts of the past. Now, there is less swelling, bruising, and pain than ever before. There are also different procedures, such as mini-facelifts that use smaller and fewer incisions, making recover all that much easier.

If you are considering having a facelift to correct the signs of aging in your face, contact an experienced plastic surgeon near you. During your initial consultation, your plastic surgeon will review the entire procedure and listen to your concerns.

Give Facial Massaging a Try in place of a Face-Lift

Wrinkles, crow?s feet, bags under the eyes and sagging lips are often times associated with an aging face. Many resort to a face-lift or other forms of plastic surgery, but what if you could accomplish younger looking facial skin without spending a dime?

Not to sound vain or anything, I have been often complimented on my so-called facial features like a strong jaw-line and high cheek bones etc

Perhaps, my vegan (mostly raw) diet plays a role in me being so slim and this besides serving as a natural anti-aging strategy, does contribute to the "structure" of my face.

Nonetheless, I do massage my face often and facial massaging also impacts greatly the anti-aging results sought after for the face.

The beauty is it takes less than 4 minutes or so to use and it costs you nothing but maybe the time used.

Here?s exactly how to use massaging for the face.

1. Wash your hands, especially your fingertips, thoroughly.

2. Now with your thumbs firmly gripping your jaw-line, proceed to pressing with the free four fingers the upper jaw line working from the center outwards.

3. Do 2-3 sets pressing firmly.

4. Now press the areas directly above the jaw line in the same center-going- outwards-direction firmly 2-3 times.

5. Do this working upwards till you reach the forehead line. See illustrations below:

If done correctly you should see little specks of dead skin on your face.

In a feathery motion, pinch at the entire face for as long as you desire (1-2 minutes) using all the free fingers in firm actions grasping the skin.

Now, in a downward-scraping motion using the finger tips, rub the jugular veins located at the sides of the neck (6-8) times, and then massage the outer part of the chest right next to the armpits in a firm circular motion ensuring you breathe deeply as well.

According to the Egyptians (and from my own experiences) this simple procedure has a marked effect on alleviating bags and crow's feet from the eyes and directing the flow of toxins away from the face.

Wash your hands with soap and rinse the face with cool water only-gently but firmly. Wipe dry with a paper towel (or a towel you use only for your face)

Of course other factors come into mind to improve overall health which would be reflected in your face, however, to ?tone? and sculpt the facial muscles and decrease those unwanted lines and wrinkles, facial massaging should be an integral part of your anti-aging strategy.

Here?s to staying, looking and feeling younger AND to health.

Facelift Surgery

When people talk about cosmetic surgery, the facelift is often mentioned. A facelift is a complicated process that will change your facial appearance, giving you new definition or even a new look. If you are contemplating getting a facelift, then there are several aspects of the procedure that deserve careful consideration. Being educated about all parts of a facelift will help you determine if it is a procedure with which you will be happy.

Most surgeons consider the facelift to be one of the most complicated types of cosmetic surgery. Prior to getting a facelift, you should verify that your chosen surgeon has an adequate amount of experience and can offer you the best procedures both during the surgery and during the recovery process. This will help to make sure that the cosmetic surgery is performed appropriately.

When considering the facelift procedure, it is vital to consider the different areas on which you will have work done. The first aspect that will disappear with age is the distince line made by the lower jaw. You may also notice the formation of a double chin or pads under the chin area, indicating that the skin is starting to sag. You may also have wrinkles around the nose and lips, making you appear to be frowning. The dropping of facial skin is the primary reason most patients consider a facelift.

A facelift is a cosmetic procedure in which the wrinkles over the entire facial area are lifted. There are two types of facelifts that are primarily considered by most people. The first variety is the classic lift. The classic lift focuses on tightening the skin across every area of the face. The second variety of facelift is known as a deep lift. The deep lift will not only tighten the skin, but also the facial muscles. Both of these types of lifts are used if your goal is to remove excess skin, wrinkles, or fat deposits in the eye area.

Full recovery from a facelift typically takes about three weeks. Excess skin and fat found in the chin, lip, nose, and cheek areas will be removed first. The entire facial area will then be stitched together to create a more youthful look. You should expect that gauze or wrap will be kept around your face for a short period of time in order to ensure proper initial healing. Generally, you should expect a hospital stay of at least one or two days following the procedure while your doctor makes sure that everything is functioning properly.

After undergoing a facelift, a patient can expect a more youthful look. If you are concerned that skin in your face is beginning to sag, and you are noticing more skin or fat in certain areas, you might want to consider a facelift to remedy these concerns. Before committing to this particular procedure, you will want to verify your surgeon's qualifications, what the surgery will include and how it will affect you. This will help you in make the right decision with regard to cosmetic surgery.

My Thermage Face Lift Journal

Saturday, September 9

I Had a Face Lift Today

If I had a face lift today, you may wonder how I am able to sit at the computer and type up this journal. I look pretty much as I did when I got up this morning and I feel fine. After the procedure, my husband and I went to a restaurant for a nice lunch.

Are you wondering why I look pretty much as I did this morning and why I?m not wrapped up like a mummy and in excruciating pain? It?s because I had a non-invasive face lift procedure called Thermage.

I think I look better already and my skin feels tighter, but it?s not enough that others should notice and it might just be a temporary irritation effect of the procedure. You?re still wondering why I did this, right?

Well, my plastic surgeon (and the Thermage website) explained that the treatment causes collagen to grow to re-plump and lift the face.

Given my age (60) and the condition of my skin (very good for my age), I can expect the improvement to continue for the next 18 months. He said the improvement will last for another six years after that.

Everyone is different. He said the results depend on how much collagen you still have; because the treatment works on that which you have ? thickening and lengthening it. I?ve seen the before and after pictures on the Thermage website and in a brochure the doctor gave me.

I?m really excited about the prospect of looking younger and younger each day for the next year and a half (instead of the reverse!). I?m also pleased that the treatment should last almost as long as a surgical face lift and that it was so affordable.

Next time, I?ll tell you about the procedure itself and I promise to pull no punches.

Thermage Non-Invasive Face Lift ? Blow by Blow Account

Some doctors will want to see you for an evaluation before scheduling the Thermage procedure. I asked mine if everything could be done in one visit because his office is quite far from my home. He was very accommodating.

I arrived at 11:00 and was taken right into the doctor?s office. He looked closely at my face and the condition of my skin. Then he explained the procedure in detail and said he would do 600 pulses which would include treatment of the forehead, crow?s feet area, mid-face, around the mouth, along the jaw line and the upper neck (in front). He gave me an anti-inflammatory pill to place under my tongue.

I was asked to remove my makeup thoroughly and lie on a reclining chair (as in a dentist?s office). A large rubber pad coated with gel was placed on my waist area and a cord was plugged into it. I assumed this was to conduct electricity through my body. Uh-oh, I thought this was going to be radio waves. Nobody said anything about electricity!

Then came the ?tattooing?. Don?t worry, it?s not permanent. The doctor placed a transparent flexible sheet with a grid-like pattern against my forehead and carefully rubbed over it with alcohol, transferring the grid pattern to my skin. Then he did the same to the rest of my face and to my neck. I must have looked a sight! Good thing I couldn?t see myself.

Come back next time for the rest of my story: Thermage Non-Invasive Face Lift ? Ouch and Wow!

Thermage Non-Invasive Face Lift ? Ouch and Wow!

So there I was, stretched out on the ?dentist?s chair?, staring at the bright overhead lights with a rubber pad stuck to my belly and lines ?tattooed? all over my face and neck. The doctor showed me the radio-frequency wand which would be used for my Thermage.

Each patient gets their own individual tip. I?m not sure why. Since the procedure is non-invasive, I doubt that it is for sanitary reasons. Perhaps the electronic chip which delivers the charges wears out?

Thermage works by heating collagen fibers beneath the skin?s surface. With age, collagen fibers thin, shorten and rigidify. As the face loses collagen mass, the epidermis wrinkles, collapses in and eventually begins to sag.

For some reason, heating the existing collagen fibers with radio waves causes them to relax and lengthen. Just as importantly, the heat stimulates the existing collagen to grow and thicken again. This is why the results of Thermage are not immediately evident, but rather develop over time.

The doctor warned me that I would feel a sensation of heat and at times a bit of ?discomfort?. If I could not tolerate the ?discomfort?, he could lower the frequency. To protect the epidermis from burning, a little jet of Freon (I think) is sprayed at the same time the radio waves are transmitted.

Darn, I?m out of time again and I didn?t get to the ?Ouch and Wow!? part. Next time ? I promise.

Thermage Non-Invasive Face Lift ? Ouch and Wow 2!

The doctor began zapping my forehead according to the tattoo pattern. That wasn?t too bad. A little heat and sometimes a bit of a tingling sensation. However on more sensitive areas of the face and neck, there was definite pain. It reminded me of facial electrolysis.

As the nurse noticed me tensing with the pain, she offered me a small foam ball to squeeze. The doctor told me to breathe deeply. I learned that there is a definite rhythm to maximize the pain relief using these techniques. Inhale deeply. Squeeze the ball tightly and exhale with the pain. It really helped. Kind of like mini-Lamaze, I guess.

Several times, the doctor asked me if I wanted him to lower the intensity. Each time I said, ?No?. I wanted the maximum benefit from the treatment. The doctor made a first pass over each area. This was the only painful one.

Then he did a second pass at the interstices (between the first points). Finally, he went over the ?really bad areas? (his words, not mine ? but I think we all know what he meant!). I hardly felt that. An hour after the procedure started, I was done. Big sigh of relief.

I was unplugged. The doctor and nurse wiped the tattoo from my skin.

Next time, I?ll tell you about aftercare and answer the burning question, ?Would I ever do this again??

Thermage Non-Invasive Face Lift ? You Bethcha!

When I last wrote (I feel like I?m doing an old radio show ? ?When we last left Little Orphan Annie, she was cowering in the coal bin with her faithful dog, Sandy ?), my Thermage procedure had just been completed. I stood up from the ?dentist?s chair? and felt a bit woozy. The nurse said that was from the tension and it quickly dissipated.

I went to the washroom to freshen up and get the first glimpse of the new me. No redness, no swelling. I looked pretty much as I did right before the Thermage. I say ?pretty much? because I thought I detected a slightly tightened look but realize that may have been wishful thinking on my part.

My face felt fine. There were a couple spots of very minor tenderness, but nothing I would even take an aspirin for. Then I sat down with the doctor to learn about aftercare.

For two months I am to drink a tablespoon of chlorophyll dissolved in water morning and night, as well as a glass of 1000mg of vitamin C dissolved in water.

In the morning I am to put on a high SPF face cream and at night, an active C, a.k.a. L-ascorbic acid or C esther face cream. My doctor explained that vitamin C is the best thing for collagen.

Who knew? I?m not sure why the chlorophyll and want to research that.

It?s now eight days post-treatment. My husband says in profile he sees a remarkable improvement in my neck. I see a remarkable improvement over all. I just look better every day. Friends are starting to look at me funny but no one has asked ?the? question yet.

Am I glad I did it? As they say in the movie ?Fargo?, ?You betcha!?

The Meditational Face-lift

The benefits of daily meditations prove innumerous. Meditation can improve your concentration level and allow you to make better decisions. But just by changing the position in which you meditate, you can turn your daily healing mantra into a natural face-lift treatment.

Normally you would sit in an upright position to meditate. Now, to maximize the beautifying potential of your daily meditationals try this:

1. Gently rotate your neck in circles for one minute. Then roll your shoulders forward and then backwards for one minute. The point of these mini exercises is to relax your neck. It is almost impossible to relax your face and enjoy a natural facelift with a tense neck.

2. Next, lie on your bed and place your neck over the edge of the bed. Granted, your spiritual guru may argue against such a position fearing that you will doze off, but you can handle this.

3. Now, commence your daily meditation in this position with your head tilting downward. Remain in this position for no more that five minutes to avoid a head rush and feeling dizzy.

4. Once your arise from this position, repeat the neck and shoulder mini exercises.

Tilting your head downwards for five minutes offers several face-lifting benefits:

    a. The downward position helps counter the daily pull of gravity on your skin- even if it is for just five minutes.

    b. The position brings more blood to your face so that excess toxins and excess fatty acids can get transported away from your face. Puffy eyes and a double chin will certainly benefit from the removal of unwanted circulating fats.

    c. Psychologically, placing yourself in a new position or a new orientation helps alter your mode of thinking. When you alter your thinking models, your brain cells work in new ways- a process that keeps you mentally young and sharp.

Now, your meditational face-lift is done. Use daily for optimal results.

Cosmetic Surgery Facelifts - Balancing the Benefits with the Risks

Professional organizations remind patients that cosmetic surgery is surgery, and carries the same risks as any other medical intervention. Complications may include hematoma, temporary or longer-lasting injury to the nerves that control facial muscles, infection, or adverse reaction to anesthesia.

Eyelid surgery can correct for drooping upper eyelids and puffy bags below the eyes. The surgeon removes the excess fat and muscle from below the skin, as well as removing any excess skin. The surgery usually takes one to three hours, and is usually carried out on an outpatient basis. Generally, patients can be back to work in a week to ten days.

Laser facial resurfacing is a way by which the surgeon can use a carbon dioxide laser device to smooth away fine wrinkles on the face. The surgeon can use the same laser to soften lines around the eyes and mouth, and minimize facial scars and unevenly pigmented areas. Usually, the procedure takes only a few minutes to an hour, and is carried out on an outpatient basis. Most patients are back to work in two weeks.

Face lifts are perhaps the most individualized of cosmetic surgery procedures. The surgeon evaluates the patients face, including skin and underlying bones. It?s particularly important that the doctor have a clear understanding of the patient?s goals for the surgery. In general, face lifts are performed on an out patient basis. The surgery itself will take several hours. Most patients are back to work ten to fourteen days after the surgery.

Types of Cosmetic Surgery The Facelift

Cosmetic surgery is an amazing way of improving one?s appearance with methods of modern medicine. It functions as an art as well as a science, since the aim is not only to help someone be healthy, but also look better. Cosmetic surgery includes face lifts and other improvements in facial appearance, and corrections of the contours of the breast and stomach for men as well as women.

Probably the most popular cosmetic surgery operation is the Facelift. The purpose of a facelift is to tighten the skin and remove excess fight, reforming the skin normally on older people, at least over 40 years old. It can be an in hospital procedure with general anesthesia, even though some surgeon due it as an outpatient procedure with local anesthesia. The results usually last for 5 to 10 years.

Facelifts can be over the entire face, or only over the neck, the brow, or the lower face. Other alternative procedures to improve facial appearance include a chemical peel, and facial resurfacing techniques, also laser facial resurfacing. In a chemical peel, a chemical agent is used to remove the upper layer of skin. A better, new layer of skin grows back over the next 2 or 3 weeks.

If your facelift surgery involves using a general anesthetic, you will have to fast and not drink from the night before. The surgeon makes a cut around the hairline on the forehead and carefully separates the skin from underlying fat and muscle. He removes excess fat, tightens loose muscles and then pulls up the skin to a tighter tension. This usually takes three to four hours.

In a new variant of the procedure, called endoscopic surgery, the surgeon makes a few tiny holes to pull the skin up and insert tiny surgical tools. Through a camera and controls, the surgeon is able to see inside the operating area on a TV monitor, and use the surgical tools to do the work. After the operation, the face is wrapped for one or two days, and stitches are removed after one week to ten days. In another procedure, called MACS- Minimal Access Cranial Suspension, also shorter cuts are made, and an effort is made to due the facelift with a minimal amount of scarring.

After the surgery there is some pain, and you usually have to stay in the hospital for a day or two. There is some pain after a facelift, but this can be controlled by normal over the counter pain relievers.

A Sons Journey into the World of Non Surgical Facelifts

My mother dropped a bombshell, she said she had decided to go for a full surgical facelift. My dad and I were stunned, we didn't think there was anything wrong with mums' face, we'd seen it for years and it was OK, but I guess she had read just one Hollywood celebrity article too many and had decided that it was time to address the march of time.

My dad was quite upset. I am not sure if he was thinking about the cost, the danger of surgery or the fact that my mum might be thinking about toy boys. Anyway I decided to do some research into it and found a whole world of different facelifting techniques.

Apart from the knife, there is laser and a large category known as non surgical face lifts which include face peels, some sort of radio waves that only burn about 6% of their customers, injections of some sort of toxic fluid, anti aging creams and facial exercises.

Out the whole range of weird and wonderful methods, I thought that facial exercises seemed the most benign, although it would take the most commitment from the patient. I was not sure if it wouldn't be better seeing my mum come home with a new face and a few stitches and bruises for a few days, than having to endure her going around pulling faces all the time, like some extra in a Three Stooges movie but I persisted.

On closer examination there is another vast world of facial exercises, some free, some you pay for, all guaranteeing to make the face look younger, fitter or better. Some come with celebrity endorsements or an 'as seen on TV' tag or calling it yoga for the face, it was all quite baffling.

Then I came across a site called Facialwizard at www.facialwizard.yourpower2be.com/facialwizardprogram.html , maybe it was the name, but I decided to have a look and I must say that I was surprised at what they had to offer. As well as the facial exercises, it included acupoint massage which is like acupuncture but instead of sticking needles into the specific points, you massage there. As I had received acupuncture for a motorcycle injury I knew it was good stuff, so I was impressed.

Another part of the program is called magnet therapy, which I noted incurred extra expenditure to take full advantage of its' benefits but I have heard of sports guys using it to recover from injuries faster, so I figured if they use it must be good.

The final part of this program is called EFT (emotional freedom technique) which they say will not only help you to keep doing your exercises but will also improve your life, get rid of any traumas and generally make you feel good. Now this part had me a little worried, but I knew my mum might have a problem keeping up with her daily exercises. She had joined a gym but couldn't be bothered to keep going and had taken up any number of things up but got bored with them.

I went over to Gary Craigs' website to find out about this EFT and it was really amazing just what this EFT can do.

That I think, clinched it for me, so like the guy in the Charles Atlas adverts I gambled a mere $25 and got the download, which came with 5 free other neat things that my mum really liked, which turned out to be one of the best birthday presents she ever had as the e-book is incredibly stylish.

Now she is looking really great and says she is feeling really good, my dad is still a bit worried about toyboys but she is getting him to use the program as well so he can compete.

This Facialwizard is really the best of the facial exercise programs, given all the extras it includes.

The weirdest thing is that I had a toothache one day and my mum used that EFT on me and it disappeared. I will be investigating this further.

From Here to There with Facelifts

As we age, there is simply no way to fight the ravages of time...or is there? Cosmetic surgery in the form of facial lifts is a field growing with new techniques that turn back the clock.

From Here to There with Facelifts

The world's population is living longer than ever - and with longer life comes more of the effects of aging. People's skin is sagging, getting more wrinkles and becoming spottier, so many women (and men) are turning to plastic surgery and cosmetic procedures to change the way they look. In the world of cosmetic surgery - facelifts are becoming more popular than ever. A facelift's ability to smooth and reshape an aging face makes it a great choice for our older population.

A facelift is technically known as a rhytidectomy - a term which literally means "surgical removal of wrinkles". In a facelift procedure, wrinkles and sagging or drooping skin is repaired by various means. This gives the face, chin and neck area a smoother and more youthful appearance. Facelifts have become increasingly common in the last fifty or so years, with many aging stars and celebrities opting to have their faces worked on.

Facial procedures usually start with a small incision, made in front of the ear and extending up along the hairline. This incision curves around the ear and behind it, making the scar from a facelift virtually unnoticeable. When the skin is cut, the area is folded back and tissues underneath, such as the muscle and connective tissue, may also be cut. These layers of underlying tissue can be left alone, with only excess skin being removed, or the muscle and connective tissue may be manipulated in order to allow the skin to drape properly.

After the lower layers of tissue are set correctly, the outer layers of skin are tightened up (and some excess skin may be removed) and stitched together. The skin may be tacked to the inner muscle via threads or staples. Then, the incision is completely closed via sutures or staples. There are some other procedures that are commonly performed at the same time as a facelift, these include brow lifts, chin liposuction and eyelid lifts (blepharoplasty).

Whether you're a celebrity or an architect, looking your best can affect the way you feel about yourself. Spending your money on enhancements can make you feel your youngest and better about your outward appearance. Many famous people have admitted to having facelifts, including men such as Kenny Rogers and actresses such as Joan Rivers. Even some younger people are having facelift procedures done, to make the way that their skin drapes on their face look smoother and more proportioned.

Non Surgical Facelifts - Two Options for a Natural, Youthful, Stunning Look

Before you take the option of going under the surgeon?s knife you should consider a non surgical facelift.

Because their natural they look natural and you will not encounter the problems that many plastic surgery patients have i.e it?s obvious they have had a makeover or they look totally unnatural in their appearance.

Today more women are taking the natural option and you should to. In previous articles we discussed Restylane and Mestotherapy.

Here we will cover the other two major natural facelift procedures. Lets look at them and there advantages.

1. Intense Pulsed Light (IPL)

This treatment works in a similar way to a laser and sends a nigh intensity pulse into the skin.

By heating the lower levels of the skin, it effectively destroys excess pigment and thread veins.

At the same time it will stimulate the growth of collagen in the skin itself.

The Result

The results are very good in terms of fading sun spots (a tell tale sign of aging) and also helps repair broken veins, pigmentation marks and plumps up the skin at the same time.

The Cost

The cost of the treatment is around $500 making it a very competitively priced option although depending on the skins condition a few sessions may be necessary.

2. Isolagen

This innovative treatment takes Fibroblasts from your own skin (normally behind the ears) and then clones them and they are then inserted into your face to improve appearance, targeting wrinkles are skin that is sagging or drooping.

It takes a couple of sessions to do of about 1.5 hours each and the insertions are done with needles and up to 80 injections can be done.

The Result

If done by an experienced and reputable salon then the results can be stunning and can lead to a fantastic reversal in the signs of aging, of skin tone and overall look.

Check out past cases your salon has done in the past as results can vary considerably depending on who is administering the treatment.

Cost around $6,000. Not the cheapest option, however one many women have used and have had great results.

In this series of articles we have covered 4 of the most popular procedures, so what is the best one?

Well, that really is down to what you need done and the skill of the person administering the treatment.

Do your homework and decide which natural facelift technique is for you before choosing. Keep in mind they are natural, safe and a great alternative to the surgeons knife.

The Laserlyte LiftTM - The First True Non-Surgical Face Lift

Nearly everyone over 30 years old sees wrinkles, loose skin and other signs of facial aging staring back at them in the mirror. Many would like to have a fresher younger looking face but no one wants to have plastic surgery. In recent years technological advances such as Botox?, Restylane?, Radiesse?, and new Lasers, IPL and skin tightening machines like Thermage?, Titan?, LuxIR?, and Aluma?, have improved the plastic surgeons ability to rejuvenate the face non-surgically, but none have been able to deliver the often promised "non-surgical face-lift." The best results have achieved about a 30 % tightening of the facial skin. Dramatic results have been achieved in "wrinkle removal" when proper techniques have been applied, but true lifting or tightening of the facial skin has been modest at best

The new LaserLyte Lift? promises to achieve a much more significant rejuvenation and lifting of the face with a new non-surgical multi-modality technique three phase procedure which not only tightens the facial skin but also removes wrinkles and other aging changes on the surface of the skin--all achieved non-surgically with minimal or no down time.

This new non-surgical high tech procedure is based on the theory that all of the skin layers must be treated and rejuvenated to accomplish true facial rejuvenation and is based on the principles of the 6-step facial rejuvenation program? outlined in my book "Save Your Face-The Revolutionary 6-Step Facial Rejuvenation Program.

The important changes in the facial skin which lead to an aged appearance occur predominantly in 3 layers-the epidermis or outer layer that you see in the mirror, and two deeper layers-the superficial and the deep dermis--the pink part of your skin you see when you scrape your knee.

As we age, the sun's UV rays, and other age related factors damage all 3 layers of the skin. We see these changes in the form of wrinkles, brown spots and dry skin-changes in the Epidermis or outer layer. However the major changes causing wrinkles and sagging skin is damage to the 2 deeper layers of the dermis.

The result of aging changes in both layers of the dermis is the loss of collagen. Collagen plumps the skin and gives the skin its tone and elasticity. When we lose collagen from the dermis the skin loses volume and becomes wrinkled-the same way a plum turns into a prune when it loses water after drying. In addition when we lose collagen we lose elasticity, the skin does not snap back when we pull on it and release it, and the skin sags.

The key to non-surgical facial rejuvenation or a non-surgical face-lift is to remove the superficial aging changes form the superficial epidermis and restore new collagen and thus volume and elasticity to both the superficial and deep layers of the dermis

Contemporary non-surgical methods such as laser, IPL, Radiofrequency (Aluma?, Thermage?), and Infrared (LuxIR?, Titan?,) energies are capable of treating the surface of the skin and the deep dermis, but do not treat the middle layer of the dermis and thus cannot achieve complete non-surgical rejuvenation or a non-surgical face-lift.

New technology has finally enabled us to treat the middle skin layer-the upper dermis and stimulate new collagen regeneration in this layer using a 1540 fractionated erbium laser made by Palomar, with minimal or no down time. Thus we are now able to treat all three skin layers affected by aging, removing surface irregularities such as wrinkles, brown spots, and dry skin, and restoring collagen and thus plumping volume and elasticity to the middle and deep skin layers.

Thus we can achieve a true non-surgical facial rejuvenation or non-surgical face-lift for the first time addressing all three layers of the aged skin.

This procedure is called the LaserLyte Lift? because Laser and other forms of light (lyte) energy are used to treat the three skin layers. The procedure takes time, as it requires multiple treatments scheduled several weeks apart over a time course of several months. However the results are striking-you can see them and believe them--you don't have to try to convince yourself that they are there as you have with so many "miracle wrinkle cures" you have tried in the past.

The LaserLyte Lift? involves three treatment protocols or phases.

Phase I begins with the important first 2 steps of the 6-step program?, deep exfoliation and stimulation of new collagen growth near the surface of the skin. This phase removes wrinkles, brown spots and restores the skins shiny glow. This is the LaserLyte Peel? achieved with the Lumenis Active Fx laser. This peel is performed with a topical skin anesthetic, takes 25 minutes, and leaves you pink for 4-5 days. Some people only need one peel others may need 2 or 3.These peels are scheduled 6-8 weeks apart.

Phase II-which is painless and involves no down time begins about 4weeks after your first LaserLyte Peel and is the start of your skin tightening regimen through stimulation of new collagen growth in the deep dermal layer by the application of Infrared or other energy which penetrates through the epidermis and superficial dermis to the deep dermis, to restore collagen and elasticity and tighten the facial skin. Treatments are spaced 4 weeks apart and at least 4 sessions are required.

The start of Phase III, mid dermal collagen stimulation, which involves no pain and minimal pinkness for a few hours only, using the 1540 or similar effective wavelength starts at a variable timetable depending on how many LaserLyte Peels you need. If you only need one peel Phase 3 can begin as early as 2-3 months and be alternated with Phase 2 at 2-week intervals. If you need 3 LaserLyte Peels then Phase 3 will not begin until 5-6 months.

While the LaserLyte Lift? takes time it is the only method of facial rejuvenation to actively treat all three layers of the skin and thus the only method to achieve effective facial rejuvenation non-surgically. In fact, the LaserLyte Lift? achieves more thorough facial rejuvenation than a surgical face-lift. A surgical face-lift only tightens the skin, after a surgical face-lift you have tight "old" skin. The LaserLyte Lift? renews and rejuvenates all three skin layers, thus when you are finished your face truly looks younger, and remember, you are avoiding surgery and its dangers and discomfort. More importantly you are achieving true facial rejuvenation with wrinkle removal and new collagen, which plumps and tightens your skin to a truly youthful appearance.

As technology advances we undoubtedly will be able to achieve results is less time. However at present the LaserLyte Lift is the only method for rejuvenation of all three skin layers and it takes several months to achieve a good result.

For some people with very severe aging plastic surgery will be the best option, either in the form of a face-lift or laser resurfacing or both.

But for the vast majority of my patients who I see daily in my practice the LaserLyte Lift? is an excellent way to achieve true facial rejuvenation without surgery a real "non-surgical" face-lift, with results you can see. No face cream, diet, laser, IPL, or other technology alone can achieve as good a result.

If you start before you have severe aging changes you will likely never need to have a face-lift.

A New Rug: The Quickest Way To Give Any Room A Face Lift

There is no doubt that a tasteful, well chosen rug can completely alter the appearance of any room. Whether it is an exotic, richly colored Persian rug, or deep, soft flokati, a new rug can add an entirely new dimension to any room or hallway. Functional, as well as beautiful, rugs are an easy way of adding something special to your decorating style.

In fact, if you want to revamp any room in your house, the simple addition of a rug can do just that. Forget about going to the expense of completely redecorating! Just have a look around at the vast variety of rugs and runners on the market, and you will see that by carefully selecting a rug, you can achieve much the same effect of redecorating at a fraction of the cost.

When it comes to selecting a rug for any room in your home, you will certainly find you are spoiled for choice. Not only do rugs come in a vast array of different sizes, shapes, and designs they are also made from any number of different materials. The trick to finding the perfect rug for you, is by carefully thinking about what look you hope to achieve and the amount of wear your rug will receive.

For example, if you are looking for a rug to go in the playroom, you should look into the many stain-resistant rugs available today that are specifically designed to hold up to high levels of usage and potentially soiling. Likewise, if your rug is going to be placed in a high traffic area (such as in a hallway) choose a durable, long-wearing rug in patterns or multi-colors to hide wear and stains.

Don?t be confused by the choice. Just think about overall decorating style. Is your house minimalistic with a simple color palette, or is it more flamboyant and colorful? Try to co-ordinate the colors and decor of your house with your new rug. What about your lifestyle? Do you have children or pets? Do you entertain a lot? Where is the rug going to be located? All these considerations are important to helping you pick the right rug.

Choosing a rug can be fun, letting you express your personal style. They are an extension of your own decorating taste, so choose wisely and let them add color, luxury and depth to your home.

Face Lift - Proof That Older Males Do Understand Women

Janet had arrived at that age of 50 and, like every woman she paid constant attention to her image in the mirror. Noticing and worrying about those few age lines she decided, like many other women these days, to have a light face-lift because it would give her a real boost in life. She had the money to cover the costs of the face-lift and booked the surgery.

Obviously there was time frame following the face lift before she would present her new image to the world in general. By that time however, her vain womanly reviews in the mirror indicated an excellent result. She felt good, she was a new woman, even her husband approved, so she felt ready to impress all and sundry with her new face lift. Being a woman however, she still had to seek further independent assurance.

Venturing out for the first time since her face-lift Janet visited the local supermarket, gathered her shopping and, while at the payment desk casually asked the operator 'what age do you think I am?' 'Oh! About 32' the operator replied. Janet felt over the moon, 'I'm 50 actually she replied' with a nice smile of satisfaction.

Next the pharmacy where she plucked up the courage to asks the fellow there what age he thought she was - '29' came the reply. With her confidence now blooming 'Actually I'm 50' she told the fellow. 'Well miss I would never have placed you at that age' he replied. Janet was now on the way to a state of euphoria her face lift was indeed a success.

Feeling on top of the world she pops into her local MacDonald's for a quick lunch and, once again was unable to refrain from asking the young serving girl to assess her age. Once again her confidence was assured at the reply of 35 or less. 'I'm 50 actually' she told the server with some womanly pride.

After lunch Janet, with a bounce in her step, set of to get the bus home. As she waited at the bus stop and elderly man came up and stood waiting along side. Being a woman, Janet just had to have another opinion on her face lift and plucked up the courage to strike up a conversation where she could casually slip the question as to how old he thought she might be.

Well my dear he replied, I'm nearly 70 years old and my eyesight is not the best. However, from experience I do know one guaranteed way to tell the exact age of any woman. That was an intriguing statement for any mere mature woman and of course her natural inbuilt female curiosity demanded that she ask him how. "Well my dear, it's a little bit personal in that I can only do so by feeling your breasts and that might be somewhat embarrassing for you' the elderly man replied.

As they waited in silence on the empty street Janet's female curiosity kicked-in and in a short while she could stand it no longer, she plucked up the courage and said 'OK what the hell, there's no one around so go ahead and prove it' The elderly gentleman then proceeded to slide his hands under her blouse and bra, feeling around very slowly and carefully. With an expression of deep concentration he continues to cup and weigh each breasts and finger the nipples. After a couple of minutes Janet becomes somewhat concerned and impatient, 'Ok old fellow that should be enough, How old do you think I am?" She demanded.

He gently withdraws his hands and confidently said - 'My dear you are exactly 50 years of age'--Janet, like any other woman was totally intrigued and somewhat shocked and amazed - 'How on earth could you tell' she asked the older gentleman.

The older gentleman, with a look of deep contemplation said - 'Well, I suppose it's all based on the natural male logic, observation and sensual assessment of the older man' -'What exactly does that mean' asked Janet.

'Well My dear, if you sincerely promise not to get too upset or mad, then I will let you into the secret"-- 'Good God I'm a mature woman, Of course I won't get upset' said Janet who like any other woman could not possibly resist the answer to such a secret - "Tell me'

'Well my dear' replied the elder gentleman - 'apart from my natural experienced assessment abilities I just happened to be standing in line behind you when you ordered your lunch in MacDonald's'

How did Janet react? Exactly as the elder gentleman knew she would. A slight facial flush of indignation that was immediately overridden by an immense expression of relief as her feminine vanity kicked in with the full realization that her facelift had indeed been an immense success.

Moral: Curious Mature chicks should beware of experienced, logical, lecherous old men

Face Lift: To Restore The Youthful Look And Vigor Of The Face

With the advancement of age, the skin also grows old. The first phase of oldness can be first noticed in the face. Wrinkles appear in different areas of the face. The vigor, tranquility and the serenity of the face looses its luster with the advancement of age. But the wrinkles of the face can be to a certain extent reduced through certain surgery in the face, more particularly through the process of certain cosmetic surgery. Face lift is a basic form of surgery on the basis of which the wrinkles of the face can be reduced to a certain extent. Face lift is a form of plastic surgery which is generally performed through the process of incisions which are made in different areas of the areas more particularly near the ear. This process of face lift helps in the process of firming the skin and helps the face to maintain the youthful look and vigor. Face lift thus works like wonder in dramatically maintaining the youthful look of the face.

The basic from of face lift can be performed through a medical procedure which requires local anesthesia. Besides surgical procedure of face lift, there are also certain non surgical techniques for face lift which can be performed through lasers, through radio frequency emitters and also through the process of application of certain creams which will help in the process of tightening of the skin. The medical term of face lift is ?rhytidectomy.? Face lift is thus a process which helps in the process of reversing the advancing age which lead in the formation of certain wrinkles in the face. It helps in eliminating the sagging and the creasing procedure of the face. Face lift thus rejuvenates the skin which helps in making the skin more firmed and tightened by way of tightening the areas of the face more particularly in the jowl areas of the face, facial skin and also in the neck skin zones which gets loosened with the advancement of the age.

Thus in whatever way the face lift is performed but the main principle which lies behind the process of face lift is to rejuvenate the youthful age and the vigor of the skin more particularly in the facial areas. Thus old age which basically is the proven age for wrinkles and for sagging of the skin, need not be a matter of much concern because the remedy of it is now in the air with the process of plastic surgery like face lift.

Why wrinkles are a major concern of old age? But there is no need to worry about it as the solution can be had through procedures like face lift. Farzina Naznin as a writer has thus written articles in this context for various sites like http://www.buyhealthwellness.com/ http://www.yourfitnesshealth.com/ http://www.greathealthservices.com/
